If you love selling more, faster - this episode is for you!

And, if you are trying to get new, high quality prospects into your professional services business, what is the fastest way to get them to speak to you, to serve them, and to close them?

Traditionally, it's to take them through a "first touch" campaign, then retarget and message them repeatedly, and then cram even more content until they buy.

I'd like to share a model that works really well and shortcuts the traditional customer journey.

Note: this model is not appropriate for all business models, but the key lies in testing and not getting caught in the "social media chatter" that says 'these things don't work anymore'.

When promoting ideas, products and services - you need to convey a message that speaks to the person (audience) that you are trying to attract.

While stories, hooks and call to actions are important it can be frustrating to put it all together.

And, when you review your copy, it looks like the words are not "popping out" from the page. It all appears dull.

Words and phrases are not creating excitement or engagement.

You need a "selling" thesaurus that works as hard as you do.

High powered words, phrases, slogans that give you ideas to provide more is going to create break-throughs in your business.

You are a salesman in print!

Therefore, you need a confident, rejuvenated way of expanding your copy, as well as testing new angles.

I recommend an indispensable guide in this regard; "Words That Sell" by Richard Bayan:

Are you "Living The Dream"?

First...

Let's see what Google thinks it is. We found a dictionary result at the top of the page: To experience the achievement of every success that one has aspired to achieve, especially from a career.

Quora says: "doing what you want to do… or… living the type of life you want to live without any regrets. achieving all your goals. Enjoying the fruits of your labour. Being in real life now who you had wished to be when you were younger."

While these definitions are just a few of many,

Here's what it means to me...:

"Master Yourself".

That means creating mastery from your passion. That means removing all doubt, fear, stress and focus on building confidence, inspire others and become a 100% "doer, builder, creator".

I read somewhere that 80% of the brain is occupied with fighting "fear" and "negativity" (don't quote me on the number). Basically, it's this: if in a 24 hour period you think anything - it'll be mostly negative. Self-doubt, low confidence and brain waves that send constant reminders of much less you are than others (specially when looking at other's instagram selfies) and how far you still have to go, and much much more!

So stop the self-manufactured negative "I can't do it" and push forward. If you think you want to do something, just DO IT. What's the worst thing that can happen? What's the best thing that can happen? (If the previous is true, it means you'll spend 80% of the time thinking of all the things that will/can go bad - and you'll do NOTHING. And, the cycle continues...)

Check out my crappy video inside a bedroom, with a taped up "white board". I used to care about these things, I don't now.

What changed? I flipped it from "what can go wrong, what will they say" to "Dude, I own this! I'm unstoppable. I seek change, and I'm the only one that can do it. The captain of my own ship, as they say".

So, master yourself - and get to work by picking ONE THING right now and complete it. Then do the next and so forth.

Go Conquer!

P.S.
Stop the whining. Or at least, catch yourself when you're doing it!

Videos are all the rage on Facebook...and have been for a while!

Question is...

Are you using videos in your ads?

You should. You must.

Plus, they become even more powerful assets when used with Facebook advertising.

You can use them for "% watched", meaning you can retarget viewers that have shown interest in the the videos based on engagement.

If a viewer watched 25% of the video for example, you can show ads to only these people. You are building a relationship, improving your own "know, like, trust" score.

But, videos should be created based on outcomes and goals.

This includes understanding what content to create based on the customer funnel.

Have they heard about you before? Do they know you, your product or your services? If not, consider that "cold traffic", which means you need to have a message that resonates with that group of people.

It's different for your existing buyers, etc. You get it :-)

But, today, I'm sharing a cool tool - that's what Friday Footage is for - so you can test different types of videos.

We're talking about the good 'ol "Doodle" videos.

Buy the software here: https://www.doodly.com/

Let's dig in!

The goal of today's episode is to educate you and to solve the "my marketing is working, but I get no sales" challenge.

We'll cover: "vanity metrics" vs. "true numbers"

Of course, we'll talk about the sales process.

And, I'll touch on these three audience buckets:
Today Buyers
Future Buyers
Never Buyers

When you understand the user journeys, the concept of cold, warm and hot traffic, that's the first step.

Then, leverage communication and targeting around the 3 circles of custom audiences (above), and you'll be on your way to improving the sales for your organization.

Ensure everybody is included, as a team, and make sure marketing & sales acts as "one". It's easy to blame the other group, whichever you happen to be in. If you're in both - you have only yourself to blame. ;-)

Close the marketing & sales gaps, and go SELL!

NEWSFLASH! Mary Meeker has launched her annual Internet Trends report, and presented her findings recently at the Vox/Recode Code Conference in Scottsdale, AZ.

If you are not following Mary and watching out for this in-depth research, you are skipping on critical trend data and research.

Meeker highlighted slowed growth in e-commerce sales, increased internet ad spending, data growth, as well as the rise of freemium subscription business models, telemedicine, photo-sharing, interactive gaming, the on-demand economy and more.

“If it feels like we’re all drinking from a data firehose, it’s because we are,” Meeker told the audience.

The “Queen of the internet” made references to Slack, Stripe, Spotify, Dropbox, Discord, Twitch, Zoom, Stitch Fix, Instagram and Bond portfolio company Canva as she reviewed her slides.

Download & access here: https://www.bondcap.com/report/itr19

Some highlights:
70M people globally listen to podcasts. It’s expected to double in the next 4 years.

2.4B interactive game players in the world, up by 6 percent over the last year. Fortnite alone has 250M users, as does the gaming social network Discord.

Around 51 percent (3.8B) of the world’s population now has access to the Internet, up from 49 percent (3.6B) in 2017.

7 out of world’s 10 most valuable companies by market cap are tech companies.

E-commerce sales are up by 12.4 percent over the last year, physical retail has grown only by percent.

Mobile advertising now accounts for 33 percent of advertisers’ ad purchases, up by 0.5% in 2010. Spending on print, TV, and radio ads has fallen as consumers spend far more time on mobile.

Google and Facebook make the majority of online ad revenue, but the growth of US advertising platforms like Amazon, Twitter, Snapchat, and Pinterest is outstripping the duopoly.

Google’s ad revenue grew 1.4X over the past 9 quarters and Facebook’s revenue grew by 1.9X. The combined group of all new players grew by 2.6X.

"But my business is different". Took this from marketing guru Dan Kennedy. How true, and somewhat contentious.

Why?

Look, All Businesses Have The Same Fundamental Functions In Common…

They have either a customer or a client or a patient…

They provide either a good or a service or both…

They may go to the customer location or bring the customer to their location…

They have to have some method of attracting new ones…

They need some method that’s selling repeatedly to and keeping ones they already have…

The differences between the cosmetic dentistry practice to the manufacturer of widgets that go inside vibrators, to the furniture store, the differences are really very small, very nominal and the commonalities are much greater.

Dear Reader:

On a beautiful late spring afternoon, twenty-five years ago, two young men graduated from the same college.

They were very much alike, these two young men.

Both had been better than average students, both were personable and both – as young college graduates are – were filled with ambitious dreams for the future.

Recently, these two men returned to college for their 25th reunion.

They were still very much alike.

Both were happily married. Both had three children.

And both, it turned out, had gone to work for the same Midwestern manufacturing company after graduation, and were still there.

But there was a difference. One of the men was manager of a small department of that company.

The other was its president.

(Brought to you by www.selloutmyevent.com)

The most important first step in planning out events is a clear strategy with a well defined and specific goal.

This is obvious, right?

However, the thing we see often gets missed is that there is little/low effort placed on managing the expectations of deliveries across timelines.

So... how can you avoid this management nightmare and get everybody on the team ready for the next event, workshop, conference or concert?

And, perhaps more importantly, make this a "template" process you can use again and again?

Answer: The event project calendar.

You'll hear me talk about this today, and also some tools that you can test out to see how they work for you. We also like www.airtable.com and www.trello.com

Many options exist as far as software tools go. There is no "best tool" per se.

You can find the the one that works for you, and make sure that the calendar and project planner is embraced and understood by everybody on your team.

Key stakeholders should have access and edit capability for "their" area. (and make sure you get automatic alerts when this happens).

If you are a professional services provider then you know that acquiring quality clients on a consistent basis is of the highest priority.

If you need appointments to come to you and where THEY book the appointments, listen and take notes from today's episode!

There are many ways to do this. Many rely on referrals. That's not predictable however. You need a better way to establish cash flow security in your business as well as serving the RIGHT clients.

If you have systems and processes in place to handle more clients, then you should consider what I'm discussing today.

The process itself is simple, but not always easy. One important aspect of this - is that you must keep track of your metrics. That means marketing "math".

For the appointment tools/widgets, Acuity Scheduling uses a different Facebook pixel integration for tracking than Scheduleonce. Calendly also has a different way of tracking your results, but the end result is the same: You'll be able to see the results inside your Facebook Ads Manager.

This approach is proven and it works. We use this model for cold and warm traffic strategies, both.

Curious about the client acquisition process?

We get requests from our clients to remove content (pages, images, etc) from Google search results

I'll discuss some of the options available to you in the broadcast today. Some will be specific to your own content, and we'll talk about related information and topics of reputation management in search.

This approach will help keep wrong or 'bad' pages out of the Google index and can also be used to clean up a cluttered page structure.

And, in the cases of not wanting pages to display personal information, you can definitely use this approach.

And, you can even submit a DMCA takedown request, but that's an entire broadcast in itself.

Google services are extensive, so you can review your specific service here that you want content removed for:

Here's a trick you can use to find many Facebook resources that might otherwise be hidden to you.

In specific, I'm talking about their helpful guides that you didn't know existed. At least not easily found.

For example, "Your Guide To Facebook Bid Strategies"... did you know about that one?

Well, here it is:
https://www.facebook.com/business/m/one-sheeters/facebook-bid-strategy-guide

Do you want to see more of them?

Let's use SEO (Google search trick) to find more of them:

site:https://www.facebook.com/business/m/one-sheeters

The site: (site colon command) is powerful and revealing!

Just use the first portion of the URL with the /m/one-sheeters and Google will find them all.

How about 'dem apples!

Appreciating your customers, clients, patients is more important than you might think. There's another dimension I'd like to share today.

While improving the quality of interactions with your customers is important ... through systems and processes that can be optimized through back end data - there is ONE thing that you probably have missed.

You'll learn the obvious strategies you can use to improve quality of communication and customer support.

There's a deeper level though...

P.S.
The word is: "gratitude".

Here's the definition: "the quality of being thankful". That's the REAL KEY, boys and girls, and you'll learn why.

Friday Footage: It's DEMO time - brought to you by http://www.selloutmyevent.com

Getting traffic to your website and your offer is only one small part of selling online.

You want to not only attract the right prospects (audience) for your offers, but make sure to have congruency in your funnel. That means your targeting, offer, message and call to action excites and engages your prospect to click the "buy now" button.

This formula works well, and I'm using one that was developed by our friends at samcart. They have a free trial available as well, and have easy to follow training videos to help you get set up.

Corporate site: https://www.samcart.com - get a 2 week trial!

Training: https://intercom.help/samcart/the-getting-started-guide/from-zero-to-launched-in-15-minutes

Here's the ECPC formula:

1) Excite (emotional, benefit driven headlines)

2) Connect (story, background, personal)

3) Prove (good testimonials, social proof)

4) Convert (break it down w/bullets, justify the price. Add a possible guarantee, bonuses (value based) and with a clear call to action: "purchase today and get...")

P.S.

Register for a free workshop at www.selloutmyevent.com and see how we create simple pages that convert. Plus, you get a full presentation on how to grow your event and seminar business.

May 23, 2019

Question: Which sales process works best?

For professional services businesses, I hear many answers to this.

Comments like:
"We just want calls, we'll do the rest"

"Get prospects to just find us, click over to our page, book their appointment, and just show up"

"Build out our pages and process for us. You are the expert, show us the way"...

There are variations of these.

The point I'm trying to make, and that I'm sharing here today (Model A, B, C) from the chart - is that you MUST have a sales process that works for you.

Download chart here: https://chaosmap.com/docs/one-sales-process-away.pdf

And, that you can track everything (numbers) so you can improve it. (Plus, the willingness to do so - it's not always easy to change ways of operating... especially not with a staff or front-office that has been doing it "their way" for years!)

And, with what "works" - what do I mean? Not beating around the bush here... it's this: Math & Metrics!

Do you know your traffic costs, conversion points (%) through the customer journey and your Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV)?

Good questions, more important are the answers (real data).

Most businesses want to go positive on their ad spend right away.

We like that... but the ROI and ultimate health of the business is measured differently.

You have to look at the longer term and compare marketing investments to actual returns - over time.

Let's talk about a few models today, and you can download the sheet above.

Having systems and processes in place when working with Facebook advertising is important. Even more so, when working with clients (from an agency perspective).

Sure, there are videos on YouTube to help you, but when it comes to Facebook ads manager and the business manager itself, the interface changes often.

Menus, buttons, checkboxes and descriptions are not always obvious.

Things don't remain in the same place consistently, and information online (YouTube) gets outdated.

Today, I'll cover the basic structure and configuration of things you need to get your Facebook ads environment set up, including what you need for working with an agency (what they need from you).

Your corporate website is the essential cornerstone of your brand presence online. And, depending on your business, you will have many of these, including micro-sites to support your objectives.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the art & science of ranking pages, driving traffic and optimizing the user experience and overall architecture to support your mission and business / marketing goals.

However, there are a number of moving parts, to say the least.

Today, I'll discuss the SEO audit priority list and how these are inter-connected, as well as important to get right - so you get the most "love" from search engines. (Google).

What's the difference between successful marketers and others when both sides have implemented their versions of "content marketing"?

What is the secret?

Big Question.

Here it is:

The best kept content marketing secret – The Content Marketing Calendar.

What Is a Content Marketing Calendar?

In simple words, it can be described as a timeline of the content you are going to publish over the next few days, weeks and months.

It’s similar to the programming guide for TV, radio stations, newspapers and magazines.

It also allows you to use the calendar with other 3rd party tools that gets a full view into your entire content organization and deployments.

Your entire team will love the idea that everybody gets on the same page (no pun intended) with your content marketing.

READ MORE:

https://chaosmap.com/blog/why-do-i-need-a-content-marketing-calendar/

Clearly, a calendar is in the focal point, but building out a content strategy that resonates with your audience, that attracts, engages and builds credibility with strong, compelling call to action into your sales funnel is KEY.

May 17th - Heia Norge! (Independence Day)

In today's Friday Footage - we'll talk about a powerful Facebook ads feature that is an underused aspect of ads creation.

We all know that Facebook wants to keep their users on their platform. Because, when you place a link to YouTube for example - or any other external sites, you are not only leaving the FB eco-system, but you are assuming a fast external page load, that users will not bounce and "get less love from FB" at the same time.

Instant Experience fixes all of these issues. (mobile only)

Instant Experience is a fullscreen experience that that opens after someone interacts with your ad on a mobile device. Create an Instant Experience to bring your brand or products and services to life.

With Instant Experience, you can:

Grab attention and get the full effect of high-quality content. Instant Experience loads instantly, expands to fullscreen and works with most formats, including single image, video, carousel, slideshow and collection.

Tell a story about your brand. Create a custom Instant Experience or choose from multiple templates. You can also mark clear paths through your experience with descriptive text, buttons and links.

Here's the Facebook resource: https://www.facebook.com/business/ads/instant-experiences-ad-destination

REMINDER: Creating ads is still all about the targeting, the message/hook and the offer. A bad instant experience ad will NOT make your ads suddenly work better.

Are you in the professional services business?

Do you want to attract the BIG FISH into your growing EMPIRE?

Then follow this straight-forward framework.

It's really this as SIMPLE as this model:

- Traffic (Ads)

- Registration Page

- Webinar / webcast / classroom video, etc.

- Calendar

- Application Form

How many ways do you think you could screen out the ones you don't want, and only let in the quality firms you really want? (and can TRULY serve?)

Plus, once it's dialed in (profitable returns on ads and services), you can scale this to the stratosphere!

We see solid searches and traffic for posts on creating twitter bios.

While Twitter traffic has seen a decline, it can work well for those who invest in it. Clearly, the current President of the United States is a happy 'client' :-)

Today, I wanted to share best practices for creating killer Twitter profiles/bios that engages and show uniqueness in the market.

Here are 5 ways to create a solid bio in Twitter:

1 – Be Original
2 – Be Direct
3 – Be Witty (But Only If You’re Witty)
4 – Don’t Sell
5 – Be Genuine

We run ads, build content and help build sales funnels through search, social and paid ads.

P.S.

Remember: Consistency of your graphics brand and messages. If you build it out for Twitter, don't create a different message on LinkedIn and with a different graphic header, etc.  Stay within the same guidelines across all platforms.
