In the past year, I've turned my marketing agency from a side job to my primary source of income. There are a lot of growing pains associated with scaling up your business - you need to maintain your quality of service to retain clients while building your pipeline, network, and list of offerings. I've recently been happy with my companies ability to grow which is primarily due to our ability to document processes and contract out our work while maintaining our quality.

We've spent a lot of time honing our outsourced back office to fulfill orders so that we can focus on scaling up our list of clients. Because of this, we should be able to handle a 400% increase in accounts this year alone.


A big automotive conference in Orlando this April called Digital Dealer is a place where dealers come to talk digital marketing strategy. 

We're looking to unveil a chatbot system we've partnered up on at this conference. So a dealer can purchase the bot and give their audience an instantaneous way to connect - it offers a car trade in valuation, a soft credit pull for instant approval, and so much more. 

We've spent the last 2 months preparing a huge prospecting list and building out our product offerings so we can kill it at this conference. 
As an owner, it's tough to say "lets take a couple weeks or months to prepare for our next move" but with our new offerings and back office fulfillment processes in place, it will be worth it. Obviously chasing immediate sales is the quickest route to making some money - but as an agency owner, I've found you can also drown in opportunity, so taking time to pick your battles is a key to effective scaling.

Building a business as we have is really is all about processes and people/relationships. 

I'd heard it a hundred times while I was at Florida State University studying real estate and entrepreneurship. But no one ever really talks about how to build processes or how to identify the right people you need to talk to. 

In digital marketing, the team with the best-DOCUMENTED strategy wins. 

When you're a one-man show, it's really easy to have the best strategy - you're the only one who needs to know it. The key is in the execution - so you need highly detailed documentation of your plan and how your company works... or else you'll be stuck with just a handful of clients because you can't scale. 

A huge piece of our ability to potentially grow up to 400% this year is based on the fact that we have over a couple hundred page SOP binder so that anyone (whether they're overseas or in our office) who begins working with our company can jump right into the tasks at hand. 

Everything we do from finding prospects to set up campaigns to our chatbot fulfillment processes is well documented and easy to follow.

I'm inspired by my dad whom I started working for after college and has really supported me on this digital marketing journey is number one on my list. 

He's by far the most knowledgable businessman 
I know and definitely motivation behind me working so many hours a week. Outside of him, I'm a huge fan of Grant Cardone and Bezos. 


Cardone because he's literally everywhere - he's one of the few that have found out the secret to brand building in this era, plus, I'm a huge fan of real estate which he's the king of. 

Bezos isn't as loud-mouthed as Cardone, but we (as a society) haven't seen his level of innovation since Steve Jobs.
